The REALTORS® Conference & Expo Packing List

The REALTORS® Conference & Expo is right around the corner this week in sunny San Diego, CA. If you have an interest in commercial real estate, the conference schedule is jam packed with opportunities for education, collaboration, and more.

Pack the Necessities
It never fails…I always end up packing the things I don’t need and forget the things I do need. This year, I am determined to pack everything I need, and I want you too as well! So… besides the toiletries and clothes, make sure you bring business cards. I am sure there is a magical app you can download that zaps your contact information to the nearest Apple/Android/Palm Pilot, but bring a couple cards anyways. As an added bonus, if you like winning prizes, expo sponsors are always fans of leaving a business card for a chance to get a smart watch for your other arm. Notepads, pens, cell phone charger, personal care, hotel information, wallet… What am I forgetting?? Oh man, I’ve got to start packing…

Check out the Schedule
I am excited for this year’s schedule of commercial events at the REALTOR® Conference & Expo. Check out this link for a rundown of commercial topics on the schedule. In addition to this, the National Association of REALTORS® have commercial business meetings that govern the direction of our association. These meetings have wide-ranging topics including commercial legislation, research, and economics. I recommend filling your day with the Commercial Legislation & Regulatory Advisory Board meeting on Thursday at 12:30 PM, the Commercial Research Advisory Board meeting on Thursday at 2:00 PM, the Commercial Economic Issues & Trends Forum Friday at 1:00 PM, the Commercial Caffeinated Networking Breakfast (Ticketed Event) Saturday at 7:30 AM, the Commercial Red Carpet Networking Reception (Ticketed Event) Saturday at 6:30 PM, and the Commercial Property Pitch Event Monday at 9:30 AM to name a few.

Come with an Open Mind
The day before heading out of town is always a crunch day for REALTORS®, making sure every project is caught up and handled before heading out of town. After getting through Conference Eve, make sure your mind is clear enough to meet new people, take advantage of exciting resources, and bring knowledge and tools back to your office to make an immediate impact on your business.

See you in a couple days…don’t forget your toothbrush!
