I have to admit, I’ve not always been a realtor.com® user or advocate.
In early October, I walked into a listing appointment and the conversation immediately went to their home search rather then their home sale. The first thing out of the seller/buyer’s mouth was, “So, we’ve been looking on realtor.com®…”
I’ve always been intrigued as to why consumers pick the sites they do. A few weeks later, I found myself in his shoes. We’ve decided to buy a second home in a market I know nothing about.
After searching for a local REALTORS®’ IDX I liked and a public MLS portal, I simply gave up and started Googling. That search lead me to realtor.com®.
Now, I understand why our consumers are using realtor.com® over other platforms. The critic I am has been blown away with the friendliness of the interface. I’ve been impressed that when my REALTOR® sends me new listings through her automatic system, those listing appear on realtor.com® within a few minutes.
What I like most is the ability to filter by so many parameters. I’m a “Freshest Listing” sort kinda guy myself.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I get it. I’m a REALTOR®. Blogging for NAR Conference Live, which is sponsored by realtor.com®, but I have to tell you, if you haven’t spent hours on the site looking through a consumer’s eyes, you’re seriously making a mistake.
