This morning, a number of REALTORS®, affiliates, and staff met at the Tucson Association of REALTORS® offices to sit and talk about the REALTORS® Conference & Expo next week, create a game plan, and get an idea of who is doing what. We are always well represented at the REALTORS® Conference & Expo and at Mid Year, so gathering together was a great idea. The meeting was lead by our CEO, Mark Lebowitz and Association President, Nicole Brule-Fisher. Our association is well represented on a number of NAR boards, committees, and WCR, with some of members holding the chair or vice chair position. It’s representation that we can be very proud of!

You’ll find as you go through your week in San Diego that advocacy is a very important aspect of what we do. Each year, we REALTORS® go to bat for our consumers to protect them from all sorts of things that creep up on a local, state, and national level. That’s why attending the REALTORS® Conference & Expo and going to committee meetings is so important – especially if you aren’t on that board or committee. We all have our interests, and I guarantee that you’ll find something like that. My interests lay in social media as well as REALTOR® safety, and member and consumer communication. That’s where you’re going to find me.

In my last blog, I talked about making sure your local association knows you are attending. This is an amazing resource for you to have. Find out which committees your leadership are on by going to the Committee Page at realtor.org, click on current appointments, then your state. Once you find out who is serving on a committee you are interested in, call them up and chat a bit!

Next week is going to be a great opportunity for everyone to network, see old friends, learn what our industry is facing in the coming year, along with attending some amazing events and seeing the sights!
Jump in with both feet!
