Global Reach and Local Focus at the Conference

Did you know that last year’s REALTORS® Conference & Expo attracted real estate professionals from 65 different countries? This year NAR will welcome 1,500 international attendees at the 2015 REALTORS® Conference & Expo, including visitors from Canada, China, Sweden, the Philippines, Brazil, Spain, and more.

The event’s tag line is “Global reach, local focus” because the conference focuses on real estate’s local trends and global opportunities. International real estate professionals come to the conference to learn how to conduct transactions in the U.S. They look to leave with referrals to leverage when their clients want to invest in U.S. property or immigrate to the country. In fact, thirty-five percent of Realtors® reported working with an international client in 2014, up from 28 percent in 2013.

According to NAR’s 2015 Profile of Home Buying Activity of International Clients, foreign buyers are attracted to California and San Diego in particular. California is a popular state for buyers from Asia and Oceania for business, education, and investment purposes. Mexican purchasers are particularly interested in the San Diego area. And Canadians list nearby Arizona as one of their top three states for winter vacation opportunities.

There is no better place than San Diego for U.S. and international real estate professionals to meet face to face. For international attendee resources, including a visa letter, click here.
