Where to Wine and Dine in San Diego

Sand, sunshine and sustenance: San Diego is home to some of the best restaurants in the country, many with stunning views of the water. We asked our members for their recommendations to the best spots to dine and drink. Local member Michelle Visentin of Burke Realty Group, shares her favorites.

    “A beautiful restaurant reaching out over the water in San Diego Harbor serving delicious food and drinks. The Bloody Marys have a crab claw in them!”
  2. Jimmy’s Amazing Famous Tavern
    Located right of the marina this fun restaurant has great food and an even better Sunday brunch.
  3. OB Noodle House
    Delicious Asian cuisine with the best noodles in town! Loved by all, this place always has a line.
  4. Harney’s Sushi
    A fun sushi bar in Old Town that offers a sushi roll combination for all appetites. A reservation is always needed for this popular upscale restaurant.
  5. Karl Strauss
    Having many locations within San Diego, this restaurant has the best macaroni and cheese plates and offers other great food to pair with your beers off the tap.
  6. Hungry Lu’s
    The BEST desserts South of I-8. Drop in after a day at the beach and grab yourself a homemade chocolate covered coconut macaroon.
  7. Bankers Hill Bar & Restaurant
    This uptown dim-lite restaurant offers amazing selections of unique wine and food, but their simple burger will melt in your mouth.
  8. Hash Hash a Go Go
    Amazing breakfast on plates the size of x-large pizzas. The chicken and waffles will leave you wanting more.

Sally’s Seafood on the Water
This restaurant is above the walkway across from the water, near the Hyatt. You will encounter a casual atmosphere and great food that won’t disappoint. (Michael Coughlin)

Cucina Urbana
The menu is ambitious, without being overwhelming. They feature sustainable, local and organic products, without being fanatical. The wine list is well-rounded. (Tyrone Dutton)

Ballast Point Brewery & Restaurant
This place is amazing, and located in the Little Italy neighborhood very close to the airport. I went here last year, and I highly recommend it! (Clayton Jirak)

Extraordinary Desserts
Paninis, salads, coffee and wine are available, but as the name claims, the incredible desserts will delight your eyes and your taste buds. And with TWO locations you have no excuse not to go! (Christine Lovett)
